Sydney socialite Nadia Fairfax-Wayne flaunts baby bump at party

Sydney socialite Nadia Fairfax-Wayne has shown off her baby bump at a birthday celebration for Australian basketball team captain and NBA star Patty Mills.

The luxury fashion darling – who married husband Michael Wayne in a lavish harbourside ceremony in March 2021 – has largely kept her pregnancy quiet. The Daily Telegraph last week reported the 34-year-old is understood to be about six months along.

At Mills’ birthday celebration, hosted by global denim and streetwear brand Ksubi, Fairfax-Wayne looked chic in a long-sleeved black crop with lace-up detailing and low-rise ripped jeans from the label’s Fall 23 collection.

An unnamed friend of Fairfax-Wayne’s told The Telegraph she was “really happy, very excited” to become a mum.

Her appearance comes after she denied claims in a report by The Sydney Morning Herald’s Private Sydney column that she was looking to move on from the city’s social scene.

In the story, published last weekend, Andrew Hornery suggested Fairfax-Wayne was going to “quit” her “influencer career”.

Taking to her Instagram Stories in response, however, Fairfax-Wayne said the comments she made were only “passing”.

“Guys, bit of a lol,” she wrote, alongside a screenshot of the article.

“Passing comments saying I was a bit bored and might be keen to see dabble (sic) in other things (haven’t we all been there after 10 years of doing the same job!? Haha) somewhat blown out of proportion!!
“I’m not going anywhere, I’ll always be here, doing things in my own little way … PS, don’t worry, I still love a good party.”

Fairfax-Wayne and her now-husband, an investment adviser, met at the wedding of two mutual friends, and were first reported to be dating in February 2019.

“He’s her biggest champion and isn’t threatened by her success,” a friend of Fairfax-Wayne’s told The Sydney Morning Herald at the time.

“He admires her work ethic and the fact she’s a social butterfly, whilst he’s happy to sit back in the shadows away from the social scene.”

She later revealed to Vogue Australia that Michael proposed the day before the wedding of two other friends in Bowral, in NSW’s Southern Highlands.

“Simple, but effective,” she said of the moment, before recalling that she “bawled like a baby”.
