Jack Johnson Announces New Album 'All The Light Above It Too'

Multi-platinum selling recording artist Jack Johnson has announced the release of his seventh studio album. The new LP is titled ‘All The Light Above It Too’ and will be released via Johnson’s own record label Brushfire Records this September.

Along with the announcement of the new album, Jack Johnson has also released the first single off the new record giving fans a taste of what is to come. ‘My Mind Is For Sale‘ is out now, and there is also an official lyric video for the track.

‘All The Light Above It Too’ has been recorded over the past year at Jack’s Hawaii based Mango Tree Studio. And for the first time in many years the singer/songwriter handled almost the entirety instrumentation himself, echoing the four-track recordings that first launched his illustrious career over seventeen years ago.

Speaking about the new LP, Jack Johnson says: “This album shares what has been on my mind during the past year or so. A year in which I sailed through the North Atlantic Gyre for a documentary about plastic pollution in the ocean. A year in which Trump was elected as the President of the United States. A year in which I camped, surfed, got stitches, explored, dreamed, shared time and endless conversations with my family and friends…all of which inspired these songs. I usually make sketches of the songs first then set up a time to actually record the album. This time around the original sketches became the final versions. I didn’t want to lose any of the spirit that a song has in its rawest form”.

All The Light Above It Too‘ will be released on the 8th of September and is available to pre-order now. Fans are also able to pre-order a limited number of exclusive LP bundles, including a very special blue and clear swirl vinyl package from Johnson’s official website.
